Job Summary The Department of Psychiatry at Quillen College of Medicine, ETSU is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Responsibilities include providing clinical care to adult or child/adolescent patients through inpatient and/or outpatient services. The successful candidate will teach and supervise residents and medical students. Opportunities for research and scholarly activity are also available. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Academic appointments may be eligible for tenure. Clinical and research tracks are available and may convert to tenure-track within 3 years. ETSU Psychiatry provides care to a large geographic region that includes northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Southern West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, and Western North Carolina. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our region offers a wealth of outdoor activities and excellent schools. The beautiful Smokey Mountain National Park is nearby. Two major interstate highways, 1-26 and 1-81, serve the area. There is 1 local airport and 2 others in close proximity. Tri-Cities region is Tennessee’s fifth-largest Combined Statistical Area with a population of over 826,000 in 2024 and was named the best place to live in Tennessee by USA Today. Salary is competitive, with funding available through the Medical School and other sources. ETSU is a 501C3 non-profit that qualifies for student loan forgiveness through the Department of Education.
