Position Overview:

Oakwood Soccer Club is seeking a driven, experienced, and detail-oriented soccer professional to serve as our

MLS NEXT 2

Director. This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about leading high-performing environments and has a strong understanding of the elite youth development pathway. In addition to overseeing the MLS 2 program, the successful candidate will serve as the Head Coach for three teams within the club’s elite boys programming.

Key Responsibilities:

Director Duties:

Oversee the day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the

program. Serve as the primary point of contact for

MLS NEXT 2

staff, players, and families. Work collaboratively with the Technical Staff to align the pathway from U13 through U19 and beyond. Set the standard for high-performance culture: match preparation, player evaluations, periodization, and video analysis. Attend all

MLS NEXT 2

matches and training sessions; ensure standards for coaching methodology, game model, and professional behavior are met. Scout and identify players within and outside the club to strengthen the talent pool. Coordinate with college and professional contacts to support player advancement.

Coaching Duties:

Serve as Head Coach for three competitive teams within the Oakwood SC boys structure. Plan, deliver, and review all training sessions and matches in accordance with the club philosophy. Implement clear Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and provide regular feedback to players and families. Attend all league events, showcases, and team travel. Foster a positive, challenging environment that emphasizes accountability, detail, and growth mindset.

Qualifications & Requirements:

USSF A or B License (or international equivalent; A preferred) 5+ years of coaching experience at the elite youth, collegiate, or professional level Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Deep understanding of MLS NEXT and the US Soccer player development landscape Proficiency in video analysis, match preparation, and periodization principles Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams and coach across age groups Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for events Eligible to work in the U.S. (club sponsorship is possible for the right candidate)
