The Assistant Director of Admission also contributes to the planning and implementation of student recruitment strategies to help achieve enrollment goals, and is responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing specific admissions programs and/or projects. General Duties and Responsibilities Represent the College and provide information and counseling to prospective students, families, counselors and others through interviews, group presentations, and phone and email communications Manage a defined recruitment territory; plan and conduct travel to visit high schools, attend college fairs and conferences, and connect with prospective students Review applications individually and in committee settings, recommend candidates for admission, and serve on admission selection committees Maintain and increase the selectivity, quality and diversity of the applicant pool and matriculants through a variety of recruitment and yield activities Manage a portfolio of specific admission programs and projects assigned by the Director and/or Dean Assist in the planning and implementation of student recruitment strategies and contribute to the development of new and creative admission programs Build and maintain relationships with community partners including current students, faculty, administrators, alumni and the public to support recruitment and yield activities Prepare statistical and area reports including appropriate recommendations or conclusions Interpret educational policy and institutional mission of the College to perpetuate its intellectual quality Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Education and Skills 1. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in liberal arts 2. Excellent oral and written communications skills 3. Excellent interpersonal skills 4. Ability to engage with diverse audiences and connect with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences 5. Ability to make clear and concise presentations 6. Excellent attention to detail, and strong computer skills 7. Ability to build and sustain key relationships with staff, students and off campus contacts 8. Excellent organization skills and ability to set priorities and keep to deadlines 9. A growth mindset and willingness to continually develop knowledge, skills, and competencies 10. Extensive travel required (7-10 weeks per year) 11.
