Proposed Annual Salary, Hourly Rate or One-time payment Essential Duties Work collaboratively with the Director of Student Life to provide visionary leadership to the entire social and Greek system including strategic planning, overall evaluation, development, assessment, and implementation.
Advise the three social organization leadership councils and serves as the primary liaison for social and Greek organizations to inter/national headquarters; alumni; chapter advisors; and university departments, which includes local social clubs, National Pan-Hellenic Greek Organizations, and one local fraternity.
Manage and work with student leaders to plan recruitment activities, new membership intake processes, and intake efforts.
Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation for event registration, academic success, leadership training, educational programming, chapter management and risk management efforts for fraternities and sororities, individual student officers, members and student organizations, as needed.
Develop and coordinate social and Greek wide community signature and traditional programming along with the Office of Student Life including but not limited to retreats, Recruitment, Rivalry, and Rush
Oversee program communications, including social media accounts, newsletters, websites, and marketing efforts.
Develop and implement in fundraising strategies and budget management practices to support the goals and initiatives of the social organizations
Assist student officers in understanding and adhering to university, chapter, council, and governing body policies and procedures.
Serve as an advocate and resource for social and Greek organizations and respective council officers, chapter officers, active members, new initiates, and potential new members.
Foster strong relationships with university partners, local community partners, alumni, national organizations, and other stakeholders to support and enhance connections and service opportunities; this includes annual signature events and/or the creation of new engagement opportunities.
Support the Office of Student Life and student organizations in the creation, promotion, and execution of social programming targeting evenings, weekends, and key University-wide events including annual large-scale programming events.
Serve on Student Affairs and University-wide committees and serve as a liaison to the division, university administration, alumni, and national organizations as needed.
Create a vibrant, welcoming and engaging environment for campus life including but not limited to social and Greek organizations, student organizations, and students with multifaceted personal characteristics on and off campus.
Assist the Director of Student Life in supervising, training, and evaluating Student Life Interns.
Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
Assist and train organizations with outreach activities, including campus requests, admission sessions, and freshmen orientation programs.
Conduct one-on-one meetings with social and Greek leaders to develop learning and life strategies that promote wellness, academic success, and leadership competencies.
Generate reports detailing social organization grade point averages, recruitment, and membership statistics.
Assist the Director of Student life to coordinate staff meetings, manage leadership and community engagement programs, and encourage professional development.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree in student personnel, higher education, or related field is preferred.
Requires more than 1 year of experience in student life or student affairs.

Other Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:

Knowledge of the student development theory, competent budgeting, negotiating, organizational skills, computer skills, and strong human relations (speaking and writing skills) are preferred.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Job Description Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Student Life, the Assistant Director of Student Life assists in providing leadership and strategic planning for the department while planning and implementing student activities programs and social organization programs and initiatives. The Office of Student Life takes a holistic approach to developing students by cultivating a collaborative and supportive environment where students from all backgrounds are encouraged to engage in experiences beyond the classroom. The Assistant Director provides opportunities for our students to expand their worldview and develop emotional intelligence.
