Position Summary :
The Public Programs Manager is responsible for working with Curator of Education and Public Programs in implementing and evaluating a successful and balanced annual roster of strategic, mission-based, engagement-focused multi-disciplinary programs for adult audiences, including jazz, discussions, dance, theater, films, artist talks, and more. The Public Programs Manager manages day-to-day operations of public programs that integrate CAM’s strategic plan goals, embody our brand, enhance our exhibitions, drive revenue, and emphasize diversity, innovation, collaboration, and relevance. Through strategic design and exceptional management, these public programs connect adult audiences to CAM and one another in meaningful ways that contribute to increased attendance, expanded audience, sustained engagement, and deepen our public value.

Contribute to and support CAM’s strategic plan, annual priorities, and institutional initiatives. Duties/Responsibilities With the Curator of Education and Public Programs, develops, supervises, and evaluates all adult programs, with tasks including but not limited to:
- Supervising the public programs calendar.
- Handles program administrative duties like maintaining contracts
- Arranging travel and vendor, performer, artist, and speaker service provisions.
- Coordinating and supervising on-site event management, set-up, and take-down.
- Running A/V for indoor, outdoor, and offsite events, [SK1] or hiring A/V contractors as necessary
- Coordinating documentation, including photos and attendance numbers
- With Curator of Education and Public Programs, hosting visiting speakers, artists, and performers and connecting them with the community.
- Developing and tracking metrics to measure effectiveness.
- Analyzing/sharing evaluation results.
- With Curator of Education and Public Programs creates, monitors, and preserves the public programs annual budget.
- Writes public program promotional copy and helps the marketing and communication team to prepare and edit print and digital materials that promote, publicize, and interpret public programs.
- Maintains current knowledge of contemporary art and museum programming, including the activities of peer organizations, emerging and established practices, and trending topics in critical cultural discourse.
- Supports additional Development Department [SK2] and CAM needs as required
- Coordinates program volunteers with volunteer manager Job Specific Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in studio art, design, art history, museum studies, or art education.
- Direct experience working with contemporary art and artists.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in program development, project management, and/or event planning and promotion; experience working in non-profit cultural sector preferred.
- Confident public speaker, skilled writer, proven relationship builder.
- Proficiency with Google applications and all Microsoft office software.
- Fluency in
English:
speaking, reading and writing.

- Regular evening and weekend availability to accommodate the events and programs schedule.
