Lexington County, SC Job Responsibilities Curriculum Standards Development and Revision:

Lead the cyclical review and update of Career and Technical Education (CTE) course standards to align with industry trends and educational best practices. Collaborate with educators, industry partners, and stakeholders to gather input and feedback on curriculum content. Ensure that curriculum and related materials meet required guidelines.

Assessment Alignment and Implementation:

Develop and oversee the design and implementation of assessments that accurately measure student proficiency relative to the CTE course standards. Coordinate with assessment vendors to ensure assessments are valid, reliable, and aligned with curriculum objectives. Analyze assessment data to inform curriculum, resources, and professional development needs.

Professional Development and Support:

Provide training and resources to CTE educators on the implementation of revised standards and assessments. Cross-collaborate with related College, Career, and Military Readiness offices to organize workshops, seminars, and collaborative meetings to facilitate the sharing of best practices with CTE Instructors. Offer ongoing support to instructors in interpreting standards and effectively utilizing assessment data.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

Serve as a liaison between the CTE office and external partners, including vendors, industry representatives, post-secondary institutions, and community organizations. Communicate updates and changes in standards and assessments to all relevant parties in a timely and clear manner. Participate in approved state and national forums related to CTE curriculum and assessment to stay informed of emerging trends and policies. This position is located in the Office of Career and Technical Education. Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor’s degree and experience in education, management or business. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, leadership, psychometrics, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in career and technical education, workforce development, curriculum development, or a related field. Experience collaborating with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), higher education institutions, and business/industry partners. Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum initiatives, technical skill assessments, and instructional resource development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with public speaking and professional development facilitation. Strong knowledge of career clusters, competency-based instruction, and industry credentialing. Knowledge of Perkins V legislation, work-based learning models, and program evaluation. Experience in developing industry partnerships and expanding student credentialing opportunities. Proven ability to introduce innovative solutions in CTE, workforce alignment, and student career readiness. Additional Comments Statewide travel is required.
