We seek a dynamic educator who demonstrates an affinity for mentoring and teaching students both on-campus and online, and who can bring a student-centered approach to a wide range of communication and media courses. Special consideration will be given to candidates with broad expertise across the discipline, including but not limited to Media Studies, Media Production/Content Creation, Public Relations/Strategic Communication, and Emerging Media Technologies. About the Program Communication and Media students at Methodist University grow to be effective communicators, prepared to embark on their chosen career paths or pursue graduate studies. Our program balances communication and media studies with essential skills for working in media environments such as journalism, public relations, social media management, and content strategy. Students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, preparing them for a diverse array of professional opportunities in the communication and media industries. Position Description The program seeks a digital content generalist with the ability to teach classes from our program, the details of which can be found here, including Public Relations, Social and Interactive Media, and Research Methods. The successful candidate is also encouraged discuss ideas for student engagement to develop student media, or other student-led initiatives. Responsibilities Teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the Communication and Media program. Mentor and advise students, supporting their academic and professional development. Promote student engagement in content creation and media management. Contribute to curriculum development and revision, including the creation of new courses that align with professional interests and student needs. Engage in scholarly activities and professional development. Participate in service to the department, university, and community.
