Job Description

The University of Southern Maine’s College of Science, Technology and Health invites applicants for a 9-month, fixed length (September to May), faculty appointment at the Lecturer rank within the Department of Technology for our 2025/2025 academic year. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses within the department, focusing on courses to support the Information Technology and Technology Management degrees, and include a mixture of technical and professional courses.

Specific courses areas may include:

cyber security, project management, introduction to IT, capstone. Lecturers typically teach 12 credit hours per academic semester. The ideal candidate would deliver lectures and integrate hands-on labs across a multiplicity of courses. The position will also mentor students and serve as a liaison between the Department of Technology and the local community and workforce needs. Full-time faculty members advise students and participate in other activities that support the mission of the department as requested. This position will be located on our Gorham Campus and will pay annual salary of $76,000. This is an on campus, in-person teaching position. Candidates must reside within commutable distances from the USM campuses. Required Qualifications:

+ Master’s degree in a discipline related to technology management, information technology, networking, graphic communications, technology/engineering education. + At least one year of prior teaching experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ PhD/EdD + A minimum of three years actual business and/or industrial experience in technology practices. + Additional certifications from accredited agencies. + Industry experience in the field, specifically in cyber security or digital media.
