Description
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for Lecturer in Cybersecurity. This is a full-time, 9-month non-tenure-track position starting August 1, 2025.
This position will require teaching in-person and/or online computer science courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and a solid commitment to innovative teaching methods, both traditional and technology enabled. Demonstrated interest in computer science and online education programs is expected. College-level teaching experience and/or industry experience is preferred.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers degrees at the BS, MS, and PhD levels as follows:
BS degree in Computer Science
Concentrations:
Software Systems, Data Science, Cyber Security
BSCpE degree in Computer Engineering
MS degree in Computer Science
Concentrations:
Computer Science, Data Science, Cyber Security
PhD in
Computational Science:
Computer Science concentration.
Qualifications
Required:
A successful candidate will possess the following requirements:
MS or a higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity.
Ability to teach introductory/advanced courses in Cybersecurity as well as Computer Science, Software Systems, and Data Science.
Strong interest in working with students.
Ability and willingness to participate in professional service and community engagement activities.
Willingness to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction.
Ability to assist in the accomplishment of University, College, and departmental goals and strategic plans.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Preferred:
College-level teaching experience in cybersecurity.
Strong industry experience in cybersecurity, computer science/engineering, information technology, or a closely related field.
