EXEMPT X NON-EXEMPT JOB DESCRIPTION

To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities. Provide rigorous instruction curriculum that aligns with the Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study. Sponsors a Career Technical Education Student Organization (CTSO) and participates in at least one program-related competition per year. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations. Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselors, and related service providers in the overall educational plan for students enrolled in the education setting. Assist in the development and implementation of the individual education service and transition plan for students enrolled in the education setting. Engages in professional growth & demonstrate professional ethics & leadership. Use current technology for instruction and management purposes. Ability to compile and analyze data, and interpret the laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the work. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Effective oral and written communication. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree in paralegal or related area; or bachelor’s degree or higher in Law; Criminal Justice or in a related area AND NOCTI-Criminal Justice (5269) or Juris Doctorate; master’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice; or valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate in the career technical subject area Legal Services. Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirement or a willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe.
