Class Description The Faculty Fellowship program seeks current graduate students or early career faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching. The program is specifically interested in developing faculty committed to students who have challenges in the college environment. The successful candidate will have specific awareness of mentoring, supporting, and teaching students who may have specific barriers to successfully completing their academic goals. This is a two-year grant-funded position. Faculty fellows will be hired to teach one course their first semester at the Adjunct Faculty rate; two courses their second semester and four courses at the full-time faculty salary rate during their second year (both semesters). Faculty fellows will also mentor students and will participate in professional learning. Candidates in the following disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply: Art and Design

Health World Languages Minimum Requirements Education and Experience:

Meet one of the following educational requirements that fulfill the minimum qualifications for the discipline taught: A current graduate student (must have completed at least 24 graduate credits in the discipline being taught) at the time of application and have an anticipated graduation of May 2025 or before.
Ph.D. or doctoral student who has completed at least 30 graduate credits in the discipline being taught.
Master’s degree in the discipline being taught.

$1.085 per credit hour Class Specific Essential Duties Meets regularly with a faculty fellow mentor to collaborate on strategies for supporting students in need of academic support. Discusses and creates action plan for student engagement and academic support tailored to the needs of a variety of students.
Responsible for improving academic success, retention, and graduation rates of students in need of academic support and wholistic guidance. Assists and coordinates new student orientation programs.
Facilitates student tutoring and College success workshops, programs, services, and activities. Mentors students who may have challenges reaching successful academic goals through the Focused Initiative for Student Success and other programs.
Develops new academic programs and strengthen existing programs to respond to the specific needs of students.
Develops and implements focused events on campus that engage the College community and address the needs of students.
Conducts classes according to the scheduled syllabus and lesson plans.
Delivers lectures, leads discussions, and facilitates learning activities.
Provides guidance and support to students to help them understand course materials and achieve learning objectives.
Communicates with department chairs, academic advisors, and other administrators as needed to address issues related to course delivery, student performance, or other concerns.
Supports faculty initiatives by developing and implementing programs to help students navigate the transfer process to four-year schools.
Engages in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stays current with developments in the field.
