Statesboro, GA 30458 Department Information Within this setting, the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology provides a comprehensive examination of justice, crime, and victimization. The program offers both an in-person and fully online Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology that enrolls approximately 900 students across all campuses and a minor with 175 students. The department also houses an in-person and online Master of Science (MS) program in Criminal Justice and Criminology with concentrations in criminal justice/criminology and cybercrime. Further, we offer an Executive MS program in Criminal Justice for law enforcement professionals, which permits them to complete POST-certified coursework in flexible modules. Finally, the department offers an online Graduate Certificate in Cybercrime. Job Summary Reporting to the department chair, the Visiting Instructor of Criminal Justice and Criminology will teach 15 credit hours per semester, hold regular office hours, and participate in departmental meetings and activities during the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a Fall 2025 ¿ Spring 2026 appointment for the months of August 2025-May 2026. All visiting positions are non-tenure track appointments. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications Earned J.D. or a Master¿s or Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Criminal Justice and Criminology, by August 1, 2025 Ability to teach and/or experience teaching some combination of the following courses: Introduction to Criminal Justice, Introduction to Policing, Professional Development in Criminal Justice, Ethics in Criminal Justice, Legal Process Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development Preferred Qualifications Evidence of successful college/university level teaching experience Experience with the development and delivery of courses across multiple instructional modalities (face-to-face, online, etc.) Previous experience teaching one or more of the courses listed within Required Qualifications Proposed Salary Commensurate with experience.
