Posted 5 days ago We are seeking an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support the design and development of high-quality training and performance support solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) customers. The ideal candidate brings expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and technology-based learning delivery, with a strong background in government or military learning environments. Responsibilities Apply the ADDIE model to design, develop, and evaluate instructional materials and curricula for instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced eLearning environments. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), program managers, and other stakeholders to gather content and validate instructional approaches. Develop instructional strategies, learning objectives, storyboards, course content, assessments, and evaluation metrics. Create engaging and interactive multimedia learning content. Analyze existing training programs to recommend improvements, modifications, or new course development. Ensure all deliverables meet DoD standards and client expectations, including SCORM compliance and Section 508 accessibility. Conduct formative and summative evaluations to ensure learning effectiveness and continuous improvement. Work well in a cross-functional team environment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training Development, or related field. 7+ years of experience in instructional design, with at least 3 years supporting DoD or federal government training initiatives. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies. Proficiency in eLearning development tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Experience designing for both in-person and digital training environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications :
Experience with SCORM, xAPI, and Section 508 compliance. Prior military aviation and/or aviation training experience. Experience working directly with military learners. Active Secret Clearance. Job
