Teaching Full Job Description Qualifications:
Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification, Master’s Degree or higher, with an endorsement in educational leadership/administration K-12 (preferred) Minimum 3 years teaching experience Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of ELLevation and Imagine Learning Platforms Preferred background experience in Elementary Education and Teaching English as a Second Language Strong oral and written communication skills
Essential Duties:
Serve as key contact for issues pertaining to enrollment, grade placement, transcript audits and State/Federal Provide support as needed to schools with high ESL populations Assist with registration, ensuring home language surveys are completed, and attain needed documentation of ESL students throughout the academic year Provide programmatic support for ESL teachers and students Review and maintain ESL records system-wide for compliance Assist district ESL personnel and schools in providing effective instruction for English Learners (EL) grades K-12 Utilize leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to observe and evaluate the instructional and procedural practices of ESL teachers Collaborate with ESL and school personnel to develop curriculum and instruction that meets both grade level and WIDA language development standards Assist in the planning and training Utilize data to identify and target areas for interventions and additional instructional support Conduct onsite visits to coach and support ESL teachers in delivering instruction to ELs Provide professional development and ongoing support for ESL and content area teachers on best practices for ESL instruction Facilitate communication and interactions between the district, schools, and stakeholders Facilitate monthly training/planning sessions with other EL teachers Establish a positive relationship with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors Perform any additional duties as assigned by Chief Academic Officer or designee Collaborate with Director of Federal Programs and Chief Schools Financial Officer (CSFO) to inform the Title III grant application, budget preparation, expenditures, and reconciliation Perform any additional duties as assigned by Chief Academic Officer or designee
