Job Description

The Senior Learning & Development Specialist designs and implements training programs and workshops to enhance the employee experience, improve employee performance and further advancement, all in alignment with Fortegra’s core values and brand guidelines. This position is responsible for performing training needs analyses along with developing and delivering the subsequent training program and learning material. This position requires the management of all phases of training interventions including outsourcing and collaborating with subject matter experts as appropriate. Additionally, the Learning & Development Specialist position requires cross-functional collaboration across departments while setting and managing project deadlines to deliver results. Success in this role requires a firm understanding of company objectives and the ability to prioritize and align people, processes, and projects by becoming a strategic partner and trusted learning advisor both internally and externally.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Design) or equivalent work experience. At least 8 years of full-time experience. Proficient experience with Adult Learning Theories and Principles (ADDIE, Bloom’s Learning Taxonomy, Kilpatrick’s Levels of Training Evaluations). Advanced with learning content creation systems. Advanced with Microsoft Office suite. Advanced working with learning management systems. Certified professional (i.e., CPTM, CPTD, CPLP, etc.)

Primary Job Functions:

Assess individual, team/department, and organizational training needs. Develops and Designs training programs/curriculums/modules for learning initiatives. Evaluate training effectiveness. Periodically evaluates and adapts ongoing programs to incorporate new trends and tools. Builds job role specific scalable training programs. Manages Fortegra EDGE, our Learning Management System, while vetting and adding learning content. Ensures the delivery of learning courses and programs through suitable methodologies, such as individual coaching and classroom training. Collaborates with marketing to design and develop blended learning materials on a as needed basis. Manages Learning and Development assigned projects. Delivers training programs/curriculums/modules related to learning initiatives. Assists in evaluating employees’ learning performance and related improvements. Together with HR, ensures a positive onboarding experience for new hires. Leads a team or teams within the Team of Teams Approach.
