Responsibilities:

Planning, Preparation, and Instruction Assistant Teachers will: Collaborate with lead teacher about lesson plans and instructional duties within the classroom Help lead innovative learning activities that promote children’s development and growth Administrative duties as assigned by lead teacher Assist lead teachers with developing a comprehensive curriculum and help execute innovative lessons and provide support in all core subject areas that will foster positive learning experiences and inspire, critical thinking, exploration, creativity, self-expression, and independence. Promoted an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to embrace differences, express themselves authentically, foster independence, and push creative boundaries across all subject areas. Encourage students to embrace failure as a natural part of the creative process, providing constructive feedback and guidance to refine their ideas. Stay informed about emerging trends, resources, and best practices in education, continuously enhancing students’ learning experiences. Emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in all aspects of teaching. Create a safe, inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and personal growth. Help with assessing and monitor student progress, providing timely student support and feedback to families and collaborating teachers Follow lesson plans and curriculum given by lead teacher to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring an inclusive and equitable learning experience. Willingness to learn about and utilize assistive technologies and educational tools to enhance the learning experience for students with communication needs. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with educational trends. Monitor and supervise students in and out of the classroom. Preparing materials for instruction by setting up and using computers, audiovisual equipment, and various materials. Prepares and/or displays instructional materials accurately, neatly, and in a visually pleasing manner. Flexibility to adapt to instructional groups as needed. Assist with ensuring student welfare and safety is being meet. Encourages students to develop and use critical thinking skills. Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and gifted abilities. Maintain a positive attitude and positive school climate. Fosters independence of the students through learning and self-help activities.

Classroom Environment/Management:

Record student attendance daily Design and decorate classroom and bulletin boards that are aesthetically pleasing. Assist with maintaining a clean, orderly, and attractive environment, including the care and maintenance of classroom materials and equipment; and maintaining inventory of classroom materials. Build rapport with respect and kindness for all students and between students. Model conflict resolution and problem-solving strategies in the classroom. Assist with machines and technology necessary for engaging instruction Assist students in task completing and self-assessing student work. Maintains confidentiality of student information, both orally and in writing. Attends meetings when necessary. Supervise morning arrival/activities/ recess and /or lunch duty/recess. Assists students in intervention programs and in completing school and testing requirements. Be responsible for the safety of the children until dismissed by a responsible adult. All children should be supervised at all times inside or outside the classroom. Ensure that the physical environment adheres to all health and safety regulations as required by the State of Florida.

Communication Assistant Teacher will:

Be responsible for communication that supports an understanding of the school’s program, develops positive relationships within the school community, and protects the privacy and confidentiality of each student and family in the school community. Establish a relationship with the parents of the students and maintain regular communication with parents about their child’s specific needs. Communicate to parents and others in the school community about the classroom and curriculum. Support the development of and participation in school functions, including, but not limited to, Open Houses, and Parent Education Nights, Special Events.

Cleanliness Assistant Teacher will:

Ensure that all learning spaces, common areas, and facilities are clean, sanitary, and presentable at all times. Assist with maintain Cleanliness of Common Areas-support cleaning and sanitizing end-of-day efforts.

Professional Development Lead Teacher will:

Participate in ongoing self-assessment and refinement of practice in the classroom and collaborative professional growth. Participate in a regular evaluation process, including classroom observations, feedback conferences, and an annual self-evaluation with the Director. Participate in professional development activities (both within the school community and via attendance at conferences, workshops, etc.) to grow professionally.

High School Diploma or equivalent Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Background check required Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic classroom environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working with children with diverse learning needs.
