Supervisor of Reading Curriculum and Instruction Qualifications:

Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education Required Florida Certification Required 5 years

Coaching Experience Required Reading Endorsement and Coach Endorsement Required Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Curriculum and Instruction Supports coaches with meeting Curriculum and Instruction Quarterly Objectives. Collaborates with curriculum supervisors weekly, concerning progress on Curriculum and Instruction Quarterly Objectives. Communicates with transparency to the Curriculum Supervisors on coaches’ progress towards Curriculum and Instruction Quarterly Objectives. Assists coaches with the coordination and implementation of the curriculum. Assists coaches in consistently implementing tier 1 classroom management best practices. Assists coaches in lesson planning and guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. Assists coach in planning with teacher to establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students. Assists coaches in employing a variety of high yield instructional techniques. Assists coaches in supporting interventionists with the use of curriculum and instructional strategies. Coaching and Professional Development Leads instructional coaches, provides guidance, support, and professional learning. Utilizes instructional coaching methodologies to support instructional coaches in improving their coaching practice. Provides Directive, Facilitative and Dialogical coaching to coaches. Conducts observations and provides actionable feedback to coaches. Develop and deliver professional learning sessions focusing on coaching techniques. Participates in professional learning and shares the content with instructional coaches. Submits a weekly log to the Supervisor of Reading outlining coaching plans and progress made with coaches receiving support. Provides direct coaching assistance in the event of limited or no permanent campus coach in accordance with the expressed needs provided by APC prior to the visit. The duration and nature of this support will vary by organizational needs and Lead Instructional Coach availability. Skills and Competencies Inspires and motivates instructional coaches. Builds relationships and communicates effectively. Demonstrates proficiency in data analysis and the use of data to drive instructional improvement. Professional Conduct and Confidentiality Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and administrative regulation. Ensures the creation, fidelity, and adherence of the Administrator Coach Agreement. Attends, participates, and facilitates coach meetings and professional learning communities. Consistently checks communication channels for updates. Demonstrates the ability to be prompt, honor commitments and keep an appropriate schedule. Demonstrates professional appearance and a high degree of professionalism. Check email often and respond within a timely manner. Coaching conversations are confidential (including school data, student and teacher information, student data, etc.) and should only be shared with curriculum supervisors. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as Supervisor of Reading may from time-to-time assign.
