Curriculum Coordinator Position Summary:
Curriculum Coordinator will develop curriculum components for various programs and provide direct instruction weekly. Serving as an instructor will happen in our structured First Flight classroom and programmatically throughout the day. The schedule of classes will be created with the administrators. This will be a full time position, switching the leadership role to summer camp when the First Flight Academy is not in session. This position directly reports to the Quality Assurance Administrator, but works collaboratively with the department administrators.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a supportive member of the OCA team in a variety of capacities. This person will develop relevant and progressive curriculum components for individuals with special needs. They will develop a clear and concise activity description to align with activities in the daily schedule. Classes will be provided on site, with direct instruction from the Curriculum Coordinator. Lesson plans will be provided to administrators a minimum of one week in advance. This position requires a minimum of 75% of ours on the floor ensuring activities and offered in compliance with the intention. Programmatic Support Create and support curriculum components that accomplish set objectives for each student. Making lesson plans that outline how information will be presented that respect OCA’s multi-disciplinary approach. Provide monthly reports to the leadership team. Develop a syllabus that creates timelines for instructional opportunities and assignments throughout the year in alliance with the themes developed by the administrators. Provide all lesson plans and curriculum components a minimum of one week in advance for approval to administrators. Ensure materials are available and in the appropriate location to support compliance with the posted schedule of activities. Participant Support Serve as a liaison between clients/families and leadership team for materials and community opportunities to enhance the customer experience. Providing direct instructional support to students in both group and individual format. Bring participant needs and ideas to the administrative team for ongoing enhancement of curriculum and learning. Communication & Documentation Provide support to participants, ensuring that they receive quality services. Ensure documentation requirements are met for individual clients, programs, and compliance policies. Teamwork Serve as an instructional model for the direct care staff. Ensure that they have confidence in providing the instruction and support the curriculum components. Working with team members of all departments in a collaborative effort to support consumers. Customer Service Provides excellent customer service to all customers in all situations (face to face, written communication and telecommunication). Advocate for client needs for success in programming. Camp Responsibilities Responsible year round for summer camp planning including maintaining the timeline created. Serve as primary leadership figure for summer camp operations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Rate of pay is dependent on education and experience. A minimum of an Associates Degree is required, with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Teaching certification is a bonus.
Experience:
Rate of pay is dependent on education and experience. A minimum of three years of experience is preferred. Applicable experience includes working or volunteering with children, adolescents or adults with special needs, experience in Schools, Daycares, Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes, or personal life experiences. OCA prefers a minimum of one-year experience providing therapeutic services and a demonstrated track record of innovation and passion within the field. OCA will consider each person on a case-by-case basis.
Driving:
All candidates over the age of twenty-one must be able to drive for this role. To maintain this role, staff members must have a valid driver’s license in good standing. Drivers must stay up to date with OCA driving courses and all drivers will be reviewed regularly. If drivers are found to be unsafe, aggressive or get into an accident while driving an OCA vehicle or with OCA clients in the vehicle, the staff members driving role (and rate of pay) may be reduced until proper training and safe practices can be ensured.
Physical:
Staff Members must be able to manage an active daily schedule without fatigue. The individual must be able to complete Professional Crisis Management Practitioner Level 1 or higher. Individuals must be able to lift 20lbs daily and transition materials from point A to point B.
Training/Certificates:
Staff members must receive and maintain multiple trainings while working at OCA. This includes CPR/First Aid credential within the first 90-days of employment. Additional mandatory training includes but is not limited to; Zero Tolerance, Direct Care Core Competencies, Cultural Diversity and HIPAA Compliance Training. Instructors must have a valid teaching certificate in the State of Florida.
Basic Customer Service:
Staff members will interact with various stakeholders on campus and in the community including other staff members, community members, board members, donors, and family members. All staff members are required to always present themselves and the organization in a positive manner.
Basic Office Skills:
Staff members in this role must be able to use a computer with minimal support, utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, and Publisher.
