DESCRIPTIONS
The Instructional Specialist provides on-site leadership for developing, achieving, and maintaining the highest quality instructional program. Work with the Region Instructional Coordinator and the District staff to build partnerships that enhance the educational goals of Coastal Plains Charter High School.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field with a valid Georgia teaching certificate. Highly qualified to teach class assigned as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Demonstrates the ability to make appropriate recommendations to teachers based upon collected data.
Access to a personal computer and reliable internet. Must be able to work collaboratively with groups of parents, teachers and students.
DUTIES:
Ensure teacher best practices at their site.
Ensure check-in teacher and engagement teacher collaboration is taking place.
Conduct new teacher/tutor/IS induction at their site.
Share and work with site staff on weekly student progress reports and follow up with staff about concerns.
Attend monthly PL meetings at their site to oversee data dives.
Work with Connection/Interventionist Teacher to make sure students have a learning pathway and course maps.
Work with the Graduation Coach on student progress in 4- and 5-year cohorts
Help monitor the pathway movement due to lack of attendance or students getting behind in classes.
Oversee the EOC review courses.
Help place students with Tutors when requested.
Work with site on attendance requirements.
