Job Summary
The ASU Artemis Pre-College Summer Institute (PSI) is a two-week residential program designed to engage rising sophomore and junior high school students in hands-on STEM learning. The program includes interactive activities such as UAV flying, rocket launching, and chemistry experiments, along with college preparation and career mentoring led by ASU faculty, staff, and students. Participants will also explore real-world STEM applications through off-campus trips, including visits to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

Responsibilities
Faculty Instructor
Responsibilities
Provide instructional support in STEM subjects to enhance student learning experiences.
Assist with the procurement of educational materials and resources for program implementation.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning styles.
Collaborate with instructors and staff to assess program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
Facilitate hands-on activities and experiments to promote practical application of STEM concepts.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, etc.).
Teaching certification or coursework in education or child development
Previous experience teaching or mentoring children or young adults, particularly in STEM-related subjects.
Experience with hands-on, project-based learning in a STEM context.
Proficiency with relevant technologies or tools used in STEM education (e.g., coding software, robotics kits, engineering tools, lab equipment).
Junior Instructors
Responsibilities
Collaborate with lead instructors to develop and implement effective STEM curriculum.
Assist in delivering engaging lessons and hands-on activities to students.
Support students in research projects and simplify their understanding of STEM concepts.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
Participate in professional development training to enhance instructional skills and STEM knowledge.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or currently a junior or senior enrolled in a degree program in a STEM field or related area.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and colleagues.
Passion for STEM education and commitment to fostering student learning and engagement.
Visiting Researchers
Responsibilities
Mentor students and junior researchers in research methodologies and best practices.
Provide hands-on research and project-based learning in a STEM context.
Contribute to the publication of research findings in academic journals and conferences.
Assist in the development of grant proposals for funding research projects.
Engage with external partners to foster collaborative research opportunities and initiatives.
Qualifications
Ph.D. or advanced degree in STEM or related field.

Program Coordinator
Responsibilities

Qualifications

Student Assistant
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and execution of experiential learning projects.

Technology Specialist
Responsibilities
Provide technology training and instructional support for staff and students.
Assist in the procurement and management of technology resources, including computers, robotics, and the Drone Lab.
Support and facilitate a robotics camp for elementary students to expand outreach and interest in technology.
Collaborate with facility to integrate technology into classroom practices effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong understanding of educational technology tools and resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and support.
Experience coordinating or leading technology programs or camps.
Professional Development Consultant
Responsibilities
Facilitate professional development sessions focused on the implementation of curriculum materials for educators.
