The Program Content Specialist is responsible for developing engaging, practical and accessible learning content to empower frontline retail team members with the skills and knowledge they need to deliver excellent customer experience. This role works closely with store operations, HR, subject matter experts, and designers to ensure content aligns with learning objectives and delivers measurable impact in a fast-paced retail environment. This position requires a passionate learning professional who combines technical skill with creative vision to develop training content that engages and educates our diverse workforce effectively.

Responsibilities:

Develop innovative digital learning content tailored for RaceTrac frontline employees Create micro-learning modules and quick-reference tools for just-in-time learning. Utilize multimedia tools and technologies to enhance the training experience, including incorporating interactive elements, simulations, and visuals to create an engaging and immersive experience. Maintain and enhance existing training materials based on learner feedback, metrics or program changes to improve engagement and effectiveness Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex processes into clear, actionable training. Apply instructional design methods and adult learning principles to support learner engagement and retention, specifically in time-constrained retail environments. Manage content through its full life cycle within the LMS. Ensure consistency in brand voice and instructional quality across all training materials. Manage content maturity matrix for all RaceTrac training materials Present ideas visually and simplify complex concepts for diverse learner audiences. Write storyboards, scripts, guides, quizzes, and assessments for diverse formats (eLearning, ILT, blended).

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications, or related field. 3+ years of experience in instructional content development or instructional design Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS). Proficiency in authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise) Demonstrated ability to develop content (including digital) for diverse audiences. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro) Experience creating content for diverse audiences with varying educational backgrounds Exceptional attention to detail with strong editing and proofreading abilities Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in retail training for frontline employees Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital learning content Understanding of mobile learning design principles Experience with video production and editing for instructional purposes Understanding of analytics to measure learning effectiveness Experience implementing gamification into instructional design Knowledge of or interest in emerging tools, including gamification and AI in learning All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment with RaceTrac without regard to their race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state, or federal laws, rules, or regulations.
