Summary:

The Instructional Technology Facilitator will train personnel in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System to use technology effectively in instruction and/or the support of instruction. Will facilitate learning activities in the areas of basic computer literacy, productivity software, curriculum software, instructional strategies, and projects for the Worldwide Web. Will schedule, manage, and maintain a state-of-the-art Multimedia Technology Training Facility for the entire system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans and conducts staff development activities for the integration of Multimedia Technology into the classroom. Coordinates the use of the Multimedia Technology Training Facility in offering staff development opportunities to staff members system wide. Maintains a high level of expertise in the use of technology for instructional outcomes. Maintains a high level of proficiency in the use of computers in a PC environment. Organizes and trains building level instructional technology support personnel. Plans and conducts or manages training in all major software programs adopted by the school system. Prepares and models lessons that demonstrate best practices in the integration of technology into the curriculum.

Essential Functions/Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and Experience:

Masters of Educational Technology preferred. Considerable knowledge of computer hardware, software, use of the Internet, setting-up and operating instructional computer networks. Considerable knowledge of teaching methods and techniques for training teachers in the area of instructional technology. Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or the ability to obtain a Louisiana certification.

Technological Abilities:
