Overview:
The STEM Education Coordinator is a crucial role at
STEM NOLA
which encompasses STEM curriculum, professional development, and program delivery. The STEM Education Coordinator will work in conjunction with the STEM Education Manager, and is responsible for developing and delivering STEM curriculum, a role which requires organizing STEM concepts into learning lessons for ages PreK-12 and delivering those lessons virtually and/or in person. In tandem with the STEM Education Manager, this role also includes the development and delivery of professional development to teaching professionals in small or large group formats. In concert with the STEM Education Manager, the STEM Education Coordinator will develop and deliver training for

interns and staff. Reporting Relationship This role reports directly to the STEM Education Manager and Chief Learning Officer.
Primary Functions/Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Delivery (PreK – 12th) Test and revise curricular activities for all
STEM NOLA
activities, including in- school and out-of-school programming Assist in the creation of STEM resources for a STEM Resource Library for teacher use (ex. lesson plans, demonstration videos, tutorial videos, etc) Deliver in-school programming to large and small groups of PreK-12 students in classes and at events (ex: class sessions, demonstrations, STEM Saturdays, STEM Fests), virtually and in-person Professional Development Delivery Develop and deliver trainings to teachers on science and STEM instruction Assist in the development and delivery of trainings for

Experience/Skills:
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM or Education field, required K-12 teaching experience, required PreK-12 Science Education/Curriculum experience, strongly preferred
Skills:
Ability to clearly convey complex STEM concepts Ability to present to groups ranging from 4 to 400 Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of audiences Ability to manage time, multi-task, and solve problems Knowledge of STEM content and relevant best practices in STEM education Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite Other Requirements Flexible work schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary Ability to travel up to 30% of the time Requires passage of a full background check Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required The information contained in this job description is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed for this position.
