Position Overview:

The School of Education and Social Policy at Merrimack College seeks a dynamic individual who will work collaboratively with colleagues and serve in a professional role as the Speech, Language & Learning Coordinator of Clinical Education. This position is offered as a Non Tenure Track Faculty Position, for a full-time, 12-month contract at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice to begin in Summer 2025. The successful candidate will teach courses and coordinate community and clinical experiences for the three pathways into the profession of Speech-Language Pathology at

Merrimack College:

Speech, Language & Learning Graduate Program
Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (currently a CAA applicant for candidacy)
Communication Abilities across the Lifespan (CAL)
undergraduate minor in the Department of Applied Human Development and Community Studies
Professional Studies Specialization in Speech, Language & Learning
Bachelor’s Degree Completion program
The Duties and Responsibilities of the Speech, Language & Learning Coordinator of Clinical Education may include but are not limited to the following: Develop and manage the internship and externship clinical curriculum for the SLL graduate program.
Serve as the

ASHA CEU

Provider Clinical Education Administrator for SLP & Audiology professional development opportunities hosted by Merrimack College.
Coordinate undergraduate opportunities for clinical observation.
Convey the policies of Merrimack College to students, faculty, staff and community partners involved in SLL clinical placements.
Interpret the needs and concerns of the clinical aspects of the SLL program to the Program Director and upper administration.
Collaborate with faculty and administration to determine the clinical goals and strategic plan for the SLL Programs.
Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in general and expertise-specific areas as negotiated with the Dean of the School of Education and Social Policy.
Ensure that the SLL clinical opportunities meet existing and long-term student needs.
Maintain communication with external constituent/community groups integral to the enhancement of the academic and clinical programs.
Coordinate the clinical educator (SLP supervisor) training and evaluation process in the SLL programs.
Collaborate with Merrimack College Offices (Admissions, Registrar, Student Support, etc.).
Provide student career and academic advising.

Qualifications:

A master’s degree (minimum) or doctoral degree (preferred) in Speech-Language Pathology.
At least two years of experience providing clinical supervision.
Authorization to work in the US.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) credential, as well as eligibility for Massachusetts state licensure.
Following areas are desired, but not required:
Managerial experience
Understanding of CAA standards
Experience working in higher education
