$54.9K – $71.1K a year 1 hour ago Qualifications 5 years Mid-level Full Job Description Woburn Public Schools Elementary Content Specialists Grades 3-5 This position is titled “Content Specialist” to reflect the broad, cross-disciplinary nature of the support provided to both educators and students. The Content Specialist serves as an instructional coach and provides direct service to students. Reports to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, Building Principal, and Elementary Curriculum Coordinators (this is a school-based district position). The Content Specialist plays a key role in improving student achievement by providing instructional leadership, coaching, data-driven management, planning and support to elementary staff in the areas of instruction, curriculum, and assessment. Serving as a building-based instructional coach, the Content Specialist collaborates with teachers to strengthen classroom practices and may also provide direct instructional support to students.
Essential Duties:
Plan and implement small group remedial and enrichment instruction across content areas Co-plan and co-teach with staff members across content areas Coordinate with all building staff to develop small group instruction across the building Organize resources and support staff in determining best instructional materials to use with students Provide on-going support around district initiatives Set the agenda and run teacher PLCs. Provide feedback from PLCs to the district to help coordinate Professional Development Support building-based interventionists through scheduling, grouping and planning. Collaborates with principals to support school-wide data collection and analysis, and actively contributes to data meeting cycles Provides leadership in preparing and analyzing common assessment data Assist in the running of district and building-based Professional Development Support curriculum writing and revisions in Atlas, as well as communicate to staff Attends bi-monthly district meetings Meets regularly with the building principal and/or ILT to analyze data and student work, coordinate instructional rounds, and discuss next steps for school-based professional development Gather materials and maintain inventory of curriculum materials Collaborate in the creation of the assessment calendar and WIN block schedule This position is a WTA position that does not require the evaluation of staff
Qualifications:
Elementary Certification Knowledge of research-based best practices and interventions in all content areas. Ability to analyze student and school data. Ability to effectively develop and deliver content-specific professional learning.
