AJOB GOAL

To bring all students at the elementary level to proficiency or better in English Language Arts by supporting teachers in their efforts to maximize the effectiveness of evidence-based literacy instructional practices. The coach functions as a colleague, is not part of school administration and does not participate in any way in the evaluation of teacher performance. Professional DevelopmentProvide teachers with clear and specific information on how to implement a range of effective instructional strategies for all students, including district initiatives and models of instruction. Design, facilitate and lead literacy, elementary professional development as necessaryAssist teachers in formulating their own goals for professional developmentPlan and sponsor Family Engagement events/workshops that promote literacy support at home.

Lead grade-level or individual coaching cycles in ELA. Attend training, conferences, workshops, meetings at the school, district, and/or other level (e.g. grant requirements) as applicableCurriculum and InstructionCoach/mentor classroom teachers in all aspects of differentiated instruction for early literacy skill development, including use of assessments to group students, management of effective whole and small group instruction, and individual activities to meet specific student needsAssist teachers in analyzing instructional data to determine its effectiveness and use that information to further drive instructionMeet regularly with the Teaching and Learning Team, Humanities Coordinator, Building Administration, and others to assess the progress and effectiveness of teachers instructional practiceCreate an atmosphere of trust and collaboration among staff to promote professional growth and accelerate the achievement of all studentsHelp teachers meet the goals for student progress set by the district, elementary principals, and the faculty as a whole. Work collaboratively with administrators to identify and support the implementation of high leverage instructional routines in literacy. Spend a substantial portion of the day working with teachers in classrooms. This work may include any or all of the following: observing, modeling, co-teaching, and providing actionable feedback.

Meet 1:1 and in Common Planning Time with teachers to co-plan lessons and co-analyze student academic progress. . Support facilitation of data meetings that result in actionable instructional plans to support meaningful student growth. Data ManagementBe proficient with the literacy data systems in order to support teacher use of data for tracking student academic progress, progress monitoring, and instructional delivery. As a member of the school-based data teams, prepare and analyze data to efficiently facilitate data meetings that result in actionable instructional adjustments. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work year: Consistent with Randolph Education Association (REA) Teachers contract plus five additional days

SALARY:

Consistent with REA salary schedule. Includes $3,600 curriculum coach stipend for work outside of the school day and additional five days annually paid at per diem rate. Additional days required will be determined in advance by Assistant Superintendent and Principal, in consultation with one another.
