Job Description:

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for conductingin-depth job-task analyses and needs assessments to determineappropriate training solutions and other performance improvementstrategies. These may include management reinforcement, roleclarity, job aids, and rewards systems. The individual will developgoals, objectives, and modular content for training programs thatare considered moderately complex in nature. This position requiresthe ability to use template-based e-learning applications in asophisticated manner to design engaging and interactive learningproducts. The Instructional Designer will also develop evaluationstrategies to ensure that defined learning outcomes are achieved.

Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth job-task analyses and needsassessments to identify learning objectives and determine trainingand performance enhancement solutions such as managementreinforcement, role clarity, job aids, and more. Collaborate withteam members to define individual training program goals, overallprogram objectives, and module-specific targets. Ensure alltraining aligns with job requirements and enhances employeeperformance. Apply principles of instructional design theory tocreate course content, working closely with subject matter experts,trainers, and e-learning specialists. At this level, the candidateis expected to develop new training programs from the ground up,beginning with a formal analysis of training needs, with somemanagerial guidance. Utilize knowledge of adult learning theory toselect appropriate training media and methodologies based onaudience learning styles, content type, location, and stage in thelearning process. Training may be delivered through traditionalclassroom settings, online platforms, self-paced modules, orblended approaches. Methodologies may include group lectures,role-playing, simulation exercises, self-study, on-the-jobtraining, and computer-based instruction. Partner with e-learningspecialists to develop advanced e-learning programs andapplications. Research, select, and adapt existing trainingcurricula, content, materials, and job aids to meet identifiedlearning needs. Review program evaluations, test results, andparticipant and manager feedback on training effectiveness toprovide recommendations for ongoing program improvements. RequiredQualifications Proficiency in Articulate 360 Demonstratedexperience in designing and developing instructional content Strongunderstanding of instructional design models and adult learningtheory Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communicationskills Ability to work independently and collaboratively acrossteams Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in or applicableknowledge of the insurance industry Familiarity with underwritingprocesses or related insurance functions Experience with LearningManagement Systems (LMS) Understanding of SCORM/xAPI standardsBackground in virtual instructor-led training (VILT) or blendedlearning environments
