Education + Outreach Coordinator Waterville Creates Waterville, ME 04901 WC Education + Outreach Coordinator Part-Time; Exempt Status 20 hours/per week Reports to: Manager of Outreach + Community Partnerships A vital member of our collaborative organization, the Education + Outreach Coordinator provides key programmatic support for Waterville Creates (WC) educational and outreach programs. Under the direction of the Manager of Outreach + Community Partnerships and in close collaboration with the Education Manager, the Coordinator proactively, enthusiastically, and creatively supports the successful execution of education and outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate must manage a high volume of program content in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of program delivery. Essential Duties + Responsibilities Work collaboratively with organizational partners, under the direction of the Manager of Outreach + Community Partnerships, to co-create accessible arts experiences for the community. This includes signature WC programs such as Art in the Park, First Friday, Art Rocks, and Joy to the Ville. In coordination with the Education Manager, assist in the development of program content related to Ticonic Gallery, Maine Film Center, and Waterville Opera House programs, including After School Art Club, Community Draw, Art Camps, and more. Assist with class preparation, material coordination, and the organization and storage of art supplies and equipment. Engage program participants in a welcoming and inclusive manner. Independently lead community and educational programs with support from the volunteer corps. Attend WC staff meetings as needed for planning and coordination purposes. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills + Experience Requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of art materials, techniques, and supplies. Previous teaching experience highly desired. Highly collaborative approach with participants and colleagues. Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail. Must be a self-starter who can independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Enthusiastic, flexible, positive demeanor, and creative problem solver. Strong interest in and ability to work with diverse audiences. Passion for the arts, community initiatives, and supporting artists. Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed; extremely reliable. Criminal background check required. Valid driver’s license required.
