Under limited supervision, performs a variety of tasks that support Alamance-Burlington Schools’ Pre-Kindergarten Program. This employee supports the implementation of appropriate early childhood programming in all Pre-K classrooms. The employee supports the application process for Pre-Kindergarten students, including the screening and placement of individual students. The Coordinator collaborates with Pre-K staff, Pre-K teachers, principals, and The Alamance Partnership for Children to ensure that all federal, state, and local guidelines are followed. The Coordinator works collaboratively with The Alamance Partnership for Children and the North Carolina Division of Child Development to ensure quality preschool programs throughout the district. The Coordinator organizes and provides professional development and training opportunities for PreK staff. The employee must be able to work collaboratively with other departments within Alamance-Burlington Schools and serve as an Alamance-Burlington Schools PreK Parent and Family contact.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree and Early childhood experience required; Birth-Kindergarten license preferred Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum & Instruction Provide curricular and instructional support for teachers Monitor curriculum, assessment, and program issues for continuous program and process improvement Initiate and oversee curricular and instructional programs designed to improve instruction and student achievement in Pre-K classrooms Serve as a liaison between administrative and instructional staff to support and implement initiatives that will increase student achievement and overall effectiveness Collect & analyze student, teacher, and school data to monitor and evaluate the Pre-K Program Community and Family Engagement Work collaboratively with local agencies to inform the public about opportunities for school readiness and early childhood education Attend and contribute to community collaborations intended to improve early childhood services Serve as the co-chair of the NC Pre-K committee Assist with the screening and selection for the Pre-K Application process Assist with the placement process of students according to Federal and State regulations Coordinate student enrollment for ABSS Pre-K classrooms with a focus on inclusive practices Serve as a parent and family contact/liaison to provide Pre-K family support Site Licensure Assist with the Division of Child Development Early Education (DCDEE) licensure process Ensure sites have appropriate environmental and instructional resources/materials Professional Development Align professional development plan with instructional and programming needs Coordinate professional development for Pre-K teachers and teacher assistants Collaborate with external agencies to provide training opportunities Ensure inclusive classroom practices in blended classrooms are developmentally appropriate and staff is trained on and implementing Creative Curriculum, LETRS, and TS GOLD ongoing assessment Compliance Assist with compliance of program guidelines in all programs and areas including: Title I, NC Pre-Kand DCDEE program licensure Assist with preparation of reports Attend local and state meetings to remain up to date with childcare regulations and curriculum development for preschool programs Perform various tasks and projects as determined by the Executive Director of Federal Programs
