Our mission is to provide a nurturing therapeutic and academic environment where boys can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically through individualized instruction, emotional support, developmentally appropriate life skills activities, vocational exploration, and enrichment. We are committed to holistic development and believe that every student can succeed with the right academic support, structure, and encouragement. Position Overview The Lead Academic Instructor plays a central role in delivering high-quality, individualized instruction to students while maintaining a structured, supportive, and responsive classroom environment. This educator will serve as a mentor and leader, working closely with other staff members to meet students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. The ideal candidate will bring both strong instructional expertise and a deep understanding of the challenges and strengths of neurodiverse and emotionally vulnerable students.
Key Responsibilities :
Academic Planning & Instruction:
Develop and implement engaging lessons, differentiated to meet students’ diverse learning needs. Deliver instruction and academic support for a variety of core subjects. Integrate therapeutic and behavioral supports into daily academic routines and expectations.
Individualized Support:
Assess students’ academic progress through formal and informal evaluations and use data to inform instruction. Adapt curriculum to align with IEP goals, behavioral plans, and students’ unique learning profiles. Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction as needed to promote academic growth and mastery.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
Work closely with therapists, support staff, and families to develop and maintain individualized learning plans. Participate in regular team meetings to coordinate care and address academic and behavioral needs. Collaborate with the Program Director and paraprofessionals to ensure smooth classroom operation and student engagement.
Classroom Leadership:
Maintain a structured, predictable, and positive classroom environment. Uphold high expectations while using trauma-informed practices to support student behavior. Model respectful, compassionate communication and reinforce school-wide expectations. Provide supervision for

Incorporate culturally responsive teaching strategies and materials. Contribute to the planning of special events and community-based learning experiences.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or special education certification preferred. Teaching experience; preferably with middle school students and/or students with emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges. Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and manage a diverse classroom. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Commitment to whole-child education and trauma-informed practices. Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for supporting students who learn differently. Ability to use and learn new technology.
Schedule and Compensation :
This is an 11-month, on-site position aligned with the program calendar. Competitive salary based on experience and education.
