This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The Youth Specialist will work closely with children of various ages, implementing engaging activities that promote learning and development while managing behavior effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in childcare and a passion for working with youth. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development. Provide care for toddlers and young children, ensuring their safety and well-being. Manage behavioral challenges using effective behavior management techniques. Educate children on social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution. Maintain a clean and organized classroom or daycare setting. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress and needs. Administer first aid when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all children. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required

Preferred:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children (volunteer, practicum, or paid) Must be 18 years of age or older Ability to pass criminal background checks and child abuse clearance Infant/Child CPR & First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire) Familiarity with NC Child Care licensing rules and developmentally appropriate practices a plus Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, positive spirit Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children Join our team as a Child and Youth Early Education Specialist, where you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of children while fostering their growth and development.
