FNC 665 & 675

Responsible for developing and revising credit and non-credit course curricula to ensure they meet academic standards and learning outcomes. This role involves close collaboration with instructional designers, academic directors, and other faculty members to create engaging and effective educational experiences for our students.
Duties/Responsibilities

Curriculum Build:

Review course descriptions and learning outcomes to ensure alignment with academic goals.
Confirm that syllabi utilize the most current template from the Syllabus Template Repository located on the Faculty Center.

Course Mapping:

Revise or develop course maps in conjunction with instructional designers (ID) and the Program Director.
Ensure course maps facilitate the development of coursework and assignments that appropriately address learning outcomes, including signature assignments for the assessment of degree and program outcomes.
Incorporate key concepts such as voice, audience, purpose, style and citation, and peer review into assignments.

Resource Selection:

Choose appropriate resources, prioritizing open access resources (OER) when suitable.
Consult with librarians and/or the program director for OER options.
Submit a list of all required resources (textbooks and OER) to the Program Director.

Academic Support Integration:

Identify subject areas where additional academic support may be needed.
Collaborate with the Academic Support Coordinator to implement and integrate appropriate academic support services.

Committee Participation:

Attend Course Development Committee meetings.
Meet with the Program Director as needed to discuss curriculum development and improvements.

Quality Assurance:

Participate in full course reviews to ensure quality, credit hour compliance, ADA/Universal Design, and copyright adherence.
Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

Master’s degree in relevant academic discipline.
Experience in curriculum development.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong understanding of educational standards and learning outcomes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with open educational resources (OER) and academic support services.
