This appointment is expected to run from May 17, 2025, to August 18, 2025, and will require about 18 hours per week of work. This appointment is for the redesign of CS 659: Introduction to the Theory of Computation. CS 659: Introduction to the Theory of Computation is a required class for three of the majors within the Computer Science department. It is an elective course for another three majors and a minor within the department as well as an elective option for three majors in other departments (Physics, Math, and Computer Engineering). There is a significant amount of work involved in redesigning and updating the course to bring it in line with current curriculum needs. You will work with the department faculty who teach courses for which CS 659 is a prerequisite to understand what content they rely on as a foundation for their own courses and design new course materials for CS 659. You will also work to bring the course in line with the anticipated changes to the math requirements across the CS programs.
