Job Description

Curriculum and Assessment Specialist 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Wynantskill, NY 12198 • Hybrid work

Primary Duties & Essential Functions:
Curriculum Development & Alignment:

Design, revise, and align curriculum with national and state standards and school objectives. Coordinate the selection and use of textbooks, digital tools, and other instructional materials. Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment across grade levels and subjects.

Instructional support:

Collaborate with teachers to integrate effective instructional strategies and best practices. Provide coaching, modeling, and feedback to support effective teaching. Analyze assessment data to inform instructional planning and identify areas for intervention.

Professional development:

Plan and deliver training sessions, workshops, and professional development activities for teachers and staff. Stay current on education research, trends, and technologies to inform practice.

Assessment & Evaluation:

Develop and coordinate school-wide assessments. Monitor student performance and assist in setting improvement targets. Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and recommend modifications based on results.

Collaboration & Leadership:

Serve as a liaison between teachers, administration, and external stakeholders. Lead or participate in curriculum committees and school improvement teams. Foster a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Valid professional teaching certification/license. 5 years of classroom teaching experience. Prior experience in curriculum development or instructional leadership. Strong knowledge of educational standards, assessment practices, and instructional design. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Data analysis and decision-making skills. Familiarity with educational technologies and digital curriculum tools. Ability to lead and inspire professional learning communities. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive pedagogy.

Pay:
