Position Summary:
The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs at FCS. This role involves collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure that curricula meet educational standards, promotes student success, and aligns with the organization’s educational objectives. The Curriculum Coordinator will coordinate with the Principal to provide professional development opportunities and support to teachers and staff to enhance instructional quality and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
Develop, review, and revise curriculum materials and instructional guides for various grade levels and subjects. Ensure that the curriculum aligns with Pennsylvania state and national educational standards. Oversee Warrior Night planning, preparations, and execution; works closely with faculty and staff providing support for monthly presentations; assists faculty in Warrior Night practices and troubleshooting. Develop and oversee the quarterly creation of student success plans in conjunction with the Principal; distribute plans to faculty, edit and maintain for distribution. Collaborate with teachers to integrate best practices and innovative teaching methods into curriculum design; collaborate with teachers to integrate technology and appropriate use of technology into the classroom. Provide robust support to faculty in their delivery of the curriculum and in preparation for Warrior Night. Coordinate and maintain the after-school student Tutoring Program (January-April). Coordinate and assist with special education Coordinate and assist with IEP meetings, evaluations and re-evaluation meetings, creation and maintenance of special education documents, other special education duties as assigned/requested by the Principal. Maintain and assist in maintaining the master class schedule; adjust class schedule as needed throughout the year.
Teacher Support and Professional Development:
Provide opportunities for training and ongoing support to teachers on curriculum content, teaching strategies, and assessment techniques. Provide supplementary resources to teachers when requested Monitor and support the effective implementation of curriculum in the classroom. Evaluate and provide feedback on instructional practices to improve student outcomes. Communicate staff concerns/challenges/successes to Principal Maintain PIMS Data administration and the Act 48 hours for all staff Lead the in the administration and execution of PSSA testing
Assessment and Evaluation:
Assist in developing assessment tools and strategies to measure student performance and curriculum effectiveness Coordinate i-ready training and professional development for staff Lead, coordinate and execute PSSA testing; schedule coverages and logistical support during test administration. Analyze i-ready student data to identify areas for improvement in curriculum and instruction Use data to inform decision-making regarding curriculum adjustments and instructional support. Lead and maintain quarterly report card production and distribution
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the Principal, faculty, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective curriculum delivery. Facilitate regular meetings with teachers to discuss curriculum issues, teaching methods, and student needs. Communicate curriculum changes, updates, and best practices to all relevant staff.
Curriculum Resource Management:
Identify and recommend educational resources, technologies, and tools to support curriculum implementation. Manage curriculum-related budgets, purchasing, and resource allocation. Continue to prepare, monitor, and maintain PDE reports as requested Prepare reports on curriculum development, implementation, and student performance for school boards, administrators, and other stakeholders.
