Category Schools – Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional specializing in orientation and mobility within an elementary school setting. This contract position is based in North Charleston, SC, for the upcoming school year, where the focus will be on supporting students with visual impairments through personalized mobility training.
Qualifications:
Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly those with visual impairments Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to develop individualized mobility plans Knowledge of assistive technology related to orientation and mobility Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and other specialists
