Requirements:
Applicants must hold current ARDMS and/or CCI registration in Adult Echocardiography (AE), Registered Cardiac Sonography (RCS), or Vascular (VT), aligned with the required course content. A minimum of three years of full-time experience as a registered sonographer within the last five years is required. Proficiency in instructional methods, testing, assessment, national curricula, national accreditation, national registration, and curriculum development is essential. Willingness to coordinate clinical and didactic education, evaluate affiliate clinical education centers, and possess community college teaching experience is preferred. Current Healthcare Provider certification in CPR/AED, personal transportation, and willingness to travel to clinical affiliate sites are mandatory. Applicants should employ best practices and innovation, maintain high competence in the discipline and teaching methodologies, retain students effectively, work with a diverse student population, and exhibit strong communication skills. Degrees must be from an accredited institution.
Duties:
Primary responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, and preparation of course outlines supporting learning objectives. Faculty must develop and assess learning outcomes, evaluate student performance, and maintain grade records. Creating an effective learning environment through diverse instructional methods is crucial. Collaboration in ongoing assessment of learning outcomes, participation in program reviews, curriculum revision, and engagement in professional development activities are expected. Faculty members are also required to participate in department/discipline, division, campus, and college meetings and committees, contribute to college projects and reports, aid in the development of promotional materials, maintain five office hours per week, and align with the college’s goals. Experience with the LMS “Canvas” is preferred.
