Immediate About the Opportunity Training Simplified is a creative force in the learning and development space, known for producing visually stunning, instructionally sound training content that people actually want to use. We’re not building generic e-learning—we’re designing modern training platforms that feel like they belong in today’s world. From cinematic video to high-impact Rise modules and beautifully branded printed materials, our work blends design, copywriting, and instructional strategy into something that’s both smart and inspiring. While we’re best known for our work in the restaurant industry—our bread and butter—we’re building something bigger. Our long-term vision is to create a universal training platform for the entire frontline workforce: from manufacturing, industrial, freight, and logistics to hospitality, hotels, and restaurants. This contract is a chance to get in on the ground floor of something that’s being built to scale across industries. We’re looking for an experienced instructional designer who shares this philosophy and is ready to jump in, take ownership, and build fast. The Role This is a 90-day full-time contract designed for a senior-level instructional designer with deep expertise in Articulate Rise, a strong eye for design, and the ability to deliver polished, branded training materials quickly and independently. While we prefer candidates based in Charlotte, NC (hybrid schedule with occasional in-person collaboration), we are open to remote applicants who can meet the expectations of our fast-moving, high-communication team culture. This role requires daily communication, rapid iteration, and high ownership. You won’t be working in a silo—we’re a co-creation team. We brainstorm together, storyboard together, revise together, and build in real time with fast, honest feedback. If you’re looking to storyboard quietly in a vacuum and hope the client likes it—this is not the job for you. But if you love fast feedback, real collaboration, and constant improvement in pursuit of excellence, this is your dream team. Key Responsibilities Design and develop 1-2 courses per week using Articulate Rise Implement and manage client feedback independently, ensuring revisions align with brand standards Collaborate with other designers to maintain a consistent visual and instructional identity Create performance support materials including job aids, printed guides, and handouts Write and edit clear, grammatically sound copy aligned with the brand voice Engage in daily communication and project updates to keep the team aligned and moving Participate in rapid iteration cycles—build, test, revise, improve Work with a team that values co-creation—we build every asset, course, and video as a team What You Bring Deep experience with Articulate Rise and a portfolio of real work A strong visual eye—able to edit and work within design systems, even if you’re not a graphic designer Confidence in text editing and grammar, with strong attention to tone and clarity Experience creating both digital and print-based training materials High responsiveness and comfort with frequent feedback, ambiguity, and creative brainstorming Experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality, or industrial environments is a plus A belief that training should be better—modern, human, beautifully executed
