Job Summary and Qualifications
Job Summary:
The Performance Improvement Sr. Instructional Designer collaborates with the PI Director of Education, AVP of Labor Analytics & Reporting, and PI personnel to plan, develop, and deploy education initiatives and programs that support the analytics strategies for the PI organization. This position works closely with various technical, reporting, and clinical resources to serve as a subject matter expert regarding education/training standards for the development and delivery of a comprehensive education program related to systems, processes, and ongoing education as required.
The Sr. Instructional Designer works under the direct supervision of the Director of Education which is part of the Analytics & Reporting Department, but partners with Performance Improvement leadership and other various lines of business across the organization to provide the training needed for the entire enterprise. This individual must be able to work across different and multiple educational mediums and possess excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
With the Director of Education, maintains the online help for a variety of software applications which support labor management, patient throughput, and surgical services. Maintenance includes analyzing complex business requirements documents and translating these requirements into the online help. Additionally, conduct monthly user data reviews with the Director to identify opportunities within the online help
Maintain comprehensive education catalog which includes eLearning modules, videos, job aids, Reference Guides, etc. and partnering with business owners
Develop and send communications through Staffbase for software enhancements or limited implementations
Provide support or lead small scale education initiatives which may be anything from a software enhancement that is rolling out which requires education or a new report or process.
Provide logistical support for large scale in person training events
Provides strong education organizational skills including project management, education design, communication, scheduling, registration, facilitation, time management, attendance tracking, and student management
Performs other duties as assigned
Educations:
Bachelor’s degree required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant healthcare education or formal education experience including: curriculum development, assessment, and online/classroom training delivery.
Strong technical writing and graphic design skills with available sample portfolio of work
Experience with LMS (Learning Management System) administration, such as HealthStream preferred.
Working knowledge of e-learning/distance education technology platforms and instructional design methodologies. (Could include but not limited to: video editing software and eLearning development software, such as TechSmith Camtasia and Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
