The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult education and a passion for developing effective learning experiences. The Learning Specialist for the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) plays a vital role in supporting student academic success. This position focuses on helping students strengthen academic skills and prepare for high-stakes licensing examinations through individualized support, academic coaching, and strategic learning interventions. The Learning Specialist will collaborate with the Success Team committee to monitor outcomes, with particular attention to first-time pass rates on licensing exams as a key measure of program effectiveness. Duties Provide one-on-one academic coaching and skill-building sessions to support students’ preparation for board/licensing exams. Develop individualized learning plans based on academic performance, learning styles, and student needs. Facilitate workshops or small-group sessions focused on effective study strategies, time management, test-taking skills, and exam preparation. Collaborate closely with faculty and the Success Team to identify at-risk students and implement academic support strategies. Maintain records of student interactions and document progress. Monitor and report on first-time board pass rates and trends; use data to inform academic support services. Stay current on best practices in health sciences education and learning support. Contribute to a culture of academic excellence and student-centered support. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in education, learning sciences, counseling, or a related field Experience providing academic support in higher education Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Learning Specialist Experience working in medical or health profession education settings Familiarity with board/licensure exam preparation (e.g., COMLEX-USA, USMLE) State license or certification in a professional educational or counseling field About
