Description:

ACES Educational Center for the Arts, a high school for the arts dedicated to nurturing the next generation of creative talent, is seeking a passionate and experienced Modern Dance Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern dance techniques, choreography, and performance, as well as experience teaching high school students in an arts-focused academic setting.

Responsibilities:

Teach modern dance technique classes to high school students at various levels Develop and implement lesson plans that foster technical growth, creativity, and artistry Choreograph for school productions, showcases, and student concerts Collaborating with other dance faculty and departments on interdisciplinary projects Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to students Maintain high expectations for professionalism, discipline, and artistic excellence ECA is nestled in the heart of New Haven’s Audubon Arts District and since 1973 has been a leader in fostering the education of emerging artists as they develop their unique voices. High school students from more than 28 school districts statewide attend ECA in the afternoon to study creative writing, dance, music, theatre and visual arts with professional artists. ECA is committed to providing high school students with the experience of studying the fine arts with practicing professional artists, stimulating a life-long curiosity for learning and a passion for the arts.
