Teaching Full Job Description Summary:

Angel Performing Arts (Angel Dance) has an immediate opening for a jazz dance teacher position in Massachusetts, USA. You will be responsible for teaching and training a group of dynamic students of all age groups in a wide variety of jazz dance techniques and styles. Responsibilities and Duties:

Create and follow dance curriculum for each semester; prepare lesson plans for assigned classes Teach classes at different levels (e.g., beginners and advanced) using various jazz styles in-person at the studio and/or online remotely via Zoom Manage classroom activities such as arrival, attendance, transitions, lunch, and dismissal Evaluate student progress and skills ratings; make recommendations and provide feedback for improvement using school management software Choreograph and rehearse dance routines for recital performance and dance competitions Work with school management team, other teachers, staff, parents, or students to improve quality, resolve issues, and maintain a safe and fun learning environment at all times Attend scheduled school rehearsals, performances, dance competitions, staff meetings and occasional community/charity events as required Teach private lessons as needed

Typical Weekly Teaching Schedule:

4:30 pm to 7:30 pm Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30 am – 11:00 am on Saturdays (excluding major holiday weeks)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in dance, or formal training from an accredited college or dance school 2 years of professional experience in teaching recreational and advanced level jazz classes Prior experience teaching Jazz to children ages 3-15 Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and organization skills Must be available to work during some weekday evenings and on weekends US work authorization
