Ballet/Lyrical Dance Teacher Thursdays Theater Dance Center Flanders, NJ 07836 Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dance Instructor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles, particularly Ballet, Pointe and Lyrical, and possess the ability to educate and inspire students of all ages. This role involves teaching dance techniques, working with our recreational students as well as our competition students, fostering a love for movement, and contributing to the overall development of students through engaging lesson plans and effective behavior management strategies. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to the needs of students in different age groups. Instruct classes in various dance styles, focusing on Ballet and Theater, while incorporating elements of childhood development. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression. Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a productive learning atmosphere. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills. Organize performances or showcases to highlight student achievements and promote the dance program. Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students. Stay updated on current trends in dance education and incorporate new techniques into lessons. Qualifications Proven experience in dance instruction with a strong emphasis on Ballet, Lyrical and pointe. Choreography background and reel. Background in childhood development is preferred, with an understanding of age-appropriate teaching methods. Familiarity with adult education principles is a plus for working with diverse age groups. Strong lesson planning skills that cater to varying skill levels within the classroom. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate students and engage with parents or guardians. Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a supportive learning environment. Previous experience in childcare or related fields is advantageous.
