Dance Instructor Modern Art Theater and Dance Academy 105 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302 Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our studio. The ideal candidate will have a strong dance background and or BFA in dance, and experience working with children and adults in various educational settings. This role involves teaching dance techniques, fostering creativity, and promoting physical fitness among students of all ages. The Dance Instructor will play a crucial role in developing students’ skills while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. The instructor must be willing to adhere to our Policy’s found at TheModernArtAcademy.com/Studio-Policies Responsibilities Develop and implement productive, professional, and appropriate dance curricula that align with students’ developmental stages. Teach various dance styles, ensuring students understand techniques, rhythm, and expression. Come prepared with creative lesson plans Foster a positive room environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, positivity, and inclusivity. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills. Organize performances and showcase dances to highlight student achievements. Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss student development and address any concerns. Maintain a safe and organized classroom space conducive to learning. Experience A background in dance is essential; experience in theater or performing arts is a plus. Previous experience in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable. Familiarity with curriculum development for dance or related subjects is beneficial. Skills in childcare, including the ability to create engaging activities for young learners.
