Apply forOur Open Highschool Diploma Instructor Position Today!’ TheHighschool Diploma Instructor is responsible for providinginstruction and training to students in the Career EducationCenter. Duties Include Develops individual achievement plans andacademic goals to ensure student academic achievement in theprogram. Works with the Trade Instructors to infuse appliedacademics into Trade curricula to enhance student learning andsuccess. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive informationand integrity of student data. Follows all integrity guidelines andprocedures and ensures no manipulation of student data. EnsuresCenter meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals. Responsibleto provide students with academic training leading to GED/HSDcompletion and improved literacy and numeracy skills. Providesstudents with comprehensive and individualized case management thatensures student progress, achievement and completion of the JobCorps program. Ensures classroom is well organized and conducive tostudent learning. Holds students accountable for following Center’sdress code/behavioral standards of conduct. Produces qualitywork/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and workproductivity standards. Plans, prioritizes and organizesassignments to meet established goals and deadlines. Understandsand applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required jobresponsibilities. Proactively maintains the skills required toperform job duties. Mentors, monitors and models the Career SuccessStandards as required by the PRH. Provides high-quality supervisionand management for the student population. Takes swift andappropriate action and positively influences student behavior.
Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountablefor their actions and behavior. Provides quality programs andservices for students and ensures that quality is maintained andstudent needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement ofprograms and services. Exchanges ideas and information, both orallyand in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributesmeaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas andknowledge. Provides quality and timely information to DOL/Companywhen requested. Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas.
Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluates appropriatesolutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up toensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are infact corrected. Works in partnership with staff from allDepartments to ensure effective supervision and services areprovided to students. Accepts direction and supervision from theCenter Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to includeassignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of otherdepartments and positions. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsBachelors degree from an accredited school required. A validin-state teaching certificate or waiver required.
