About Us:
Dance Moves of Charleston is a non-competitive, body-positive dance studio and mobile dance program located in the heart of Charleston, SC. We offer various recreational and pre-professional dance programs, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all students. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Instructor to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work with students of all ages and backgrounds while creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Dance Curriculum Instruction:
Delivering a set dance curriculum to children aged three and above (curriculum provided).
Availability:
Saturday mornings and weekdays after 2
Professional Representation:
Maintaining a professional attitude and appearance while representing Dance Moves at all times.
Relationship Building:
Cultivating lasting relationships with students and their families.
Weekly Reporting:
Providing weekly updates and reports to the Studio Manager or other members of the administrative team.
Skills:
Dance Proficiency:
Strong background in dance, with expertise in multiple styles and genres. Working with
Children:
Experience working with children, including skills in behavior management and classroom management.
Childhood Development:
Knowledge of childhood development and early childhood education.
Feedback Handling:
Ability to provide and accept constructive feedback in a positive and constructive manner.
Requirements:
Dance Training:
Five or more years of formal dance training, including ballet (degree preferred but not necessary).
Teaching Experience:
One or more years of teaching experience in a classroom setting, specifically working with children.
Background Check:
Successful completion of a background check.
Documentation:
Possession of a valid driver’s license, social security card, or an up-to-date passport.
Personality:
A friendly and approachable personality that resonates with children.
Professional Growth:
A desire to further develop as an instructor and collaborate within a professional team.
Local Residency:
Residing in the Charleston, SC, area with reliable transportation.
