Director of CTE and Secondary Curriculum Position Summary:
The Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Secondary Curriculum provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating CTE programs and secondary curriculum across the district. This position ensures alignment with state and federal requirements, promotes workforce readiness, and supports high-quality academic and technical education. The Director works collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, and external partners to enhance student achievement and prepare students for post-secondary success.

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university Professional teacher and leadership certificates issued by the Alabama State Department of Education prior to starting date At least three years of successful K-12 teaching experience At least two years of successful K-12 leadership experience Fingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start date
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of CTE and secondary curriculum programs Ensure district CTE programs comply with state and federal requirements, including Perkins V. Collaborate with local business, industry, and post-secondary partners to align CTE programs with workforce needs Oversee the development of curriculum frameworks, pacing guides, and assessments for secondary courses Provide professional development in secondary curriculum, instructional best practices, and CTE program implementation Lead efforts to integrate academic and technical skills across secondary classrooms Analyze data from CTE and secondary programs to monitor student progress and guide program improvements Support schools with the development and implementation of master schedules that accommodate CTE and secondary course offerings Assist with the development of the Alabama Continuous Improvement Plan (ACIP) for secondary schools Contribute to the district’s strategic plan in the areas of CTE and secondary education Conduct regular site visits and classroom observations, providing feedback to teachers and administrators Plan and facilitate meetings to review curriculum and CTE program data with school administrators Perform other duties as assigned by the
