Director and Instructional Specialist, 12 Month Salaried – Center for Environmental Law Florida State University – 4.3 Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time From $100,000 a year 2 days ago Qualifications Law Doctoral degree Environmental law 3 years Doctor of Law Senior level Master of Laws Teaching Full Job Description Department College of Law Responsibilities This position is a 12-month instructional specialist faculty position that reports directly to the law school dean or the dean’s delegate. The Assistant Dean will support certificate programs and related programming, to increase the activity and visibility of those programs. In particular, this position will support the business law certificate and programming, including the Institute for Law, Technology and Innovation, as well as the Real Estate Institute. It also will support the Environmental Law certificate and programming and the International Law certificate and programming. Advises students on the pros and cons of earning a certificate while a J.D. student and annually tracks student participation in both the J.D. certificate programs and the courses that are included in the certificate programs. Assists certificate program faculty in organizing and/or providing support for educational programming outside of the classroom, including lectures, workshops, competitions, student-edited specialty journals, field trips, creating new externships, identifying field-relevant post-graduate jobs, etc. Provides organizational and logistical support for the Summer in Law at Oxford study abroad program as needed. Helps to identify overlapping curriculum between the J.D., J.M. and LL.M. degree programs and assists the faculty with courses, symposia, conferences and other programs designed to bring students together for joint educational opportunities. Advises on law courses and faculty for future new degree programs and specialties, and works with the university registrar’s office regarding scheduling of courses offered through the law school in other departments. In consultation with the dean, organizes alumni and other attorneys into committees that meet periodically to help guide the curricular and other programming for certificate programs. Other program support duties as assigned. Teaches at least one course each year in one of the certificate programs and two courses each semester in the J.M. degree program. Qualifications Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, excellent academic records, and demonstrated ability to direct educational programming. A minimum of three years of experience teaching and/or serving in the administration of a law school is required.
