The Leadership Learning Center at St. John Bosco Church in EastLittle Havana, Florida has an opening for a Curriculum Manager. TheCurriculum Manager’s primary responsibility is to develop andcoordinate instructional material, content, and activities for theprogram in compliance with agency policies and procedures,regulatory requirements, funding stipulations, and accreditationguidelines. The position oversees, coordinates, and implements alleducational services and reports to the Executive Director. TheCurriculum Manager brings congruency to the educational activities,develops teaching staff, and provides effective and nurturingteacher-child interactions. The candidate plans and implementslearning effectively with the use of curricula and assessments thatpromote children’s progress and build respectful, culturallyresponsive, and trusting relationships with families. TheCurriculum Manager performs all responsibilities and duties inalignment with the mission, vision, and values of the RomanCatholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Essential Tasks andResponsibilities:
Coordinates educational activities, school-wide, engagingparticipation from all direct care staff. Plans and coordinates school spirit activities, specialprojects, educational fairs, and other events in collaboration withManager of Operations and Executive Director. Monitors and reviews teachers’ lesson plans and conductsmonthly classroom feedback reports. Conducts monthly observation of the team to identify skillgaps. Makes recommendations and provides feedback accordingly. Oversees the flow of activities to establish classroomroutines. Identifies students underperforming to place in Dual LanguageImmersion. Monitors and reviews the educational plan of students withdisabilities in each classroom, keeping a log of these students ineach classroom. Informs the Certified teachers and aides of students needingDLI. Mentors/coaches teaching teams showing them appropriatestrategies and resources. Monitors and counsels educational staff and takes appropriatecorrective action when needed. Prepares and monitors teaching staff work schedule, vacation,sick and leave requests following established procedures. Designs, develops, and implements teacher training programs forteaching staff. Informs certified teachers and T.A.s about new educationalrequirements and standards from grantors, accreditations, andregulating agencies. Integrates, trains, and On-boards new teaching staff on theirduties and responsibilities. Assists the executive director in the performance evaluationprocess for teaching staff. Oversees the timely implementation and completion ofassessments and screenings conducted by teaching staff andcorresponding record-keeping. Maintains positive relationships and collaboration with othereducational partners of LLC, such as The Advocacy Network onDisabilities, and FIU Summer Reading Explorers. Assists in the enforcement of all school rules in and out ofthe classroom.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college oruniversity; a minimum of 3 years as an active teacher. Supervisoryexperience highly preferred. Valid current Florida Three-Year Temporary or Five-YearProfessional Teaching Certificate. Bilingual in English and Spanish – must be able to read, writeand understand English well. CPR / First Aid Certification. FDLE background check. Skilled in curriculum development. Strong leadership skills in effective team building,decision-making, and communication. Ability to supervise, mentor, and train instructional staff toaccomplish higher academic and educational outcomes. Strong organizational, project management, and time managementskills. Knowledgeable with data tracking using instructionaltechnologies, such as Excel and others. Demonstrated history of maintaining confidentiality concerningschool matters. Must be resilient and maintain objectivity in challengingsituations. Ability to design and lead workshops, trainings, anddiscussions. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact withdiverse cultures and abilities. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have a professional demeanor and demonstrate consistentand fair work ethics. Be respectful, compassionate, and understanding.
