Gifted/ESOL Coordinator 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 2433 Nursery Road, Clearwater, FL 33764 Overview The Gifted/ESOL Coordinator will lead the school’s efforts to effectively identify, support, and serve gifted students and English Language Learners (ELLs). The coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and federal guidelines related to gifted and ESOL education, implementing instructional best practices, and collaborating with teachers, families, and administrators to enhance student academic achievement and personal growth within our STEM-focused curriculum.
Gifted Program Coordination:
Coordinate identification, evaluation, and placement processes for gifted students according to district and state guidelines. Develop and implement differentiated instruction strategies and curriculum enhancements aligned with STEM-focused education. Provide professional development, coaching, and support to classroom teachers on best practices in gifted education. Collaborate with teachers to design and implement enrichment opportunities and advanced instructional activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Monitor gifted students’ academic progress and social-emotional well-being, ensuring appropriate interventions and supports as needed.
ESOL Program Coordination:
Oversee the identification, testing, and placement of English Language Learners, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Support classroom teachers in differentiating instruction, implementing effective ESOL strategies, and integrating language development across the curriculum. Provide ongoing professional development on culturally responsive teaching, language acquisition strategies, and instructional methods tailored to ELL students. Coordinate ESOL-related assessments, maintain accurate student records, and monitor student progress. Engage families of ESOL students to promote strong home-school partnerships and meaningful involvement in their child’s education. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Florida Endorsement in Gifted Education and ESOL are required. Minimum three years of successful teaching experience, preferably within a STEM-focused school. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in gifted education, ESOL instructional strategies, and culturally responsive teaching. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
